What is Quatrefolic® and why does Biocare use it? Quatrefolic® is a patented, highly stable form of methylfolate (5-MTHF) — the active, food-form of folate. It is significantly more bioavailable and more stable in capsule form than standard calcium methylfolate. Biocare uses it because it provides folate that is immediately ready for use by the body, regardless of MTHFR genetic status, without requiring any enzymatic conversion step.

Why is the vitamin D3 in this product vegan? Most vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in supplements is derived from lanolin, a waxy substance from sheep's wool. Biocare sources its vitamin D3 from lichen — a plant-based source that naturally produces cholecalciferol. This makes the formula fully vegan without compromising on the form of D3.
